The combination of an E-MTB and plus size tires has the potential to get riders into terrain where they previously hiked the bike. That's the case both up and down the mountain. What's a lot of fun for the rider on the bike looks a little different from a wheelset's perspective: It has to be wide to hold big tires and support them well when corners are approached fast and off-camber sections are littered with roots. Durability is also key since trail bikes are there to be put away wet. At the same time it should be light enough to still be pedal-able all day. Quite a task, but the H 1700 SPLINE 35 manages it with ease since it has all key DT Swiss technologies infused. What used to be hike-a-bike are now full gas sections.
Going tubeless allows you to run lower tire pressures without the added weight of a tube. Lower tire pressure has many benefits, including greater traction, lower rolling resistance over rough surfaces, and decreased risk of a puncture-related flat.
Tubeless-ready rims and tires are parts of a complete system that eliminate the need for tubes by creating an airtight chamber between the rim and tire. Liquid sealant is added to the chamber to fill small punctures and maintain air pressure while you ride.
UST (Universal Standard for Tubeless) is a specific type of tubeless system that dictates the shape of the rim and tire beads. UST rims should be paired with UST-specific tires for best results.
